Course Summary:
This two-day hands-on course covers complex extractions and bone preservation techniques, including operatory setup, surgical protocols, retraction, and proper assisting. Participants will observe clinical demonstrations—sectioning, suturing, bone grafting, socket evaluation, and impacted wisdom tooth removal—and complete supervised extractions with Dr. Sajid Syed for real-world surgical experience.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Perform and assist with complex extractions, including sectioning, suturing, and safe retraction.
- Recognize indications for bone grafting and evaluate implant sites.
- Apply efficient surgical setup, instrument management, and documentation for safety, and accuracy.

With over 15 years of combined experience in intraoral scanning and 3D printing, Dr. Sajid Syed and Ms. Courtney Burtoo share proven, practical strategies to enhance patient care and clinical
efficiency.
Dr. Syed, a Fellow of the American Board of Oral Implantology, specializes in implant dentistry, digital workflows, and full-mouth reconstruction. He mentors clinicians across North America
through Fusion Implant Dentistry.
Ms. Burtoo, a Level II Certified Dental Assistant, brings extensive surgical experience and trains teams in efficient, predictable implant workflows.
Together, they deliver a hands-on, collaborative approach to scanning and 3D printing that empowers teams to confidently integrate digital tools into everyday practice.
