Dr. Thomas Abrahamsen returns to Hamilton

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Thomas Abrahamsen will once again be lecturing at Rotsaert Dental Laboratory. His lecture “Treatment Planning the Worn Dentition” will be presented on June 9th and 10th at our lab. Last year Dr. Abrahamsen lectured on “Aetiology, Diagnosis and Cure of the non-carious loss of tooth structure”.

Dr. Peter Dawson of The Dawson Academy cited “I consider Dr. Abrahamsen to be the foremost authority on occlusal wear”.

Dr. Abrahamsen has also written an article “The Worn Dentition – pathognomonic patterns of abrasion and erosion” and is the result of 35 years of clinical research. He reveals that the major causes of wear from abrasion are bruxism and toothpaste abuse while the major causes of wear from erosion are regurgitation, coke swishing and fruit mulling. In his article the doctor provides a diagnostic system of patterns of abuse that determines the exact aetiology of the non-carious loss of tooth structure simply by the recognition of these patterns. Dr. Abrahamsen’s article can be viewed here. The worn dentition – pathognomonic patterns of abrasion and erosion
